  • Haye-Valuev: Lennox Lewis Still Fears For David

A few weeks back, heavyweight Lennox Lewis expressed his fears for countryman David Haye. On November 7, Haye challenges WBA heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev. Lewis still sees the fight as a very tough road for Haye. He says Haye is giving up way too much to the 7'2, 320-pound giant. He almost has the fight set in his mind as a physical mismatch, with Haye only receiving an advantage in the speed department. [details]

It's pretty amazing that the man with the 100 pound weight advantage also has the markedly better stamina.

      It almost defies logic.

The size difference is pretty amazing, it's like Pacquiao taking on one of the Klitschkos.

                Do you disagree?

I don't think Valuev's stamina can be questioned and I think it will be a major factor in a fight that looks destined to last until the championship rounds.

It's amazing but true, Valuev got an amazing stamina for his size. He went the distance several times and never got tired, he's the one hunting and walking around the ring to get the other guy but I never seen him tired. I dont like his style at all, but if Haye dont have the stamina he can be KO in the last RD's, Valuev doesnt hit like a 300lbs but enough to get the other guy out of there. Haye better be careful..

I think Haye will be smart enough to know he's in this for the long haul, so will have trained with stamina in mind.

Haye's stamina has always worried me; he looks like he's in supreme shape but he seems absolutely pasted by round 5. And he's not exactly the most active of fighters ...

Maybe he'll conserve energy and pot-shot Valuev all night, like he did against Maccarninelli. Though in this case he more than likely won't be getting the KO. Just stunning Valuev and opening up a bit every round or two.
