    Super Middleweight Tournament Finals

Here's a thread to provide a little variety since all has to do with Cotto vs. Pacquiao. Sure, it's the fight of the year and I am definitely waiting for it, but there are other interesting scenarios in the sport now. Who do you think will make the finals of the World Boxing Classic?

The safe bet is to say Abraham and Kessler, but I see Froch having his chance too. Of the three Americans, I only see Ward having a chance of making it to the end. I think Taylor is out of it and I'm not sure if he will win one of his matches. Dirrell has a lot of talent but I see him a little green for this type of high class tournament.

Which final would you like? Which final do you think will happen?

You might have your personal faves but expect others to win.

Also which matches are you looking forward to the most?

I want to see Abraham-Kessler, Abraham-Froch, Kessler-Froch, and I'm also curious as to how Ward will do against the Europeans.

What people have to realize about this tournament is the favorites today won't necessarily be the favorites by the time the semi finals is happening.

There's probably going to be a fighter that gets into the semifinals with a record of 1-2, and that fighter has just as good a chance as anybody.

Let's say Andre Dirrell loses to Abraham, but beats Ward. Ward lost to Kessler and beat Taylor. Taylor is 0-3, or whoever his replacement is. If that were the case, Dirrell could get in by way of tiebreaker against Ward. Both would be 1-2 but Dirrell would have the head to head victory. At that point Dirrell could be a much better fighter and Abraham could be worn out from the tough fights.

What I like about this tournament is the variety of ways it could go. Someone could sweep through and win 5 fights by KO, or someone could go 3-2 and win the whole thing.

I think it comes down to Kessler v AA. I want Ward to win, but I know he won't.

I see Ward as the dark horse mainly because of his solid boxing. A lot of people say Kessler and Abraham but I think that, if he remains consistent, Arthur is my pick to win it all. I know we are two years from those finals but Abraham seems very solid.

I just hope that Dirrell and Froch both advance from the round robin stage and meet again in the Semifinals.

I want to see a rematch and have Dirrell kick his ass like he should have done the first time.

I'm hoping for these matchups in the Semis:

          Abraham vs. Kessler
          Dirrell vs. Froch

With a final fight of Dirrell-Kessler

It probably will not happen though as I expect AA and Kessler will secure the top 2 seeds and that the matchups we see will be:

          Abraham-Froch
          Kessler-Dirrell

With Abraham and Kessler advancing to the final...

There are some interesting views there considering Dirrell as a semifinalist. I think Ward will take a semifinal spot along with the Europeans but time will tell.

kessler and AA are my 2 favourites
ward has an outside chance though
dirrell got robbed against froch therefore eliminating any chance he had of progressing imo

I had a dream about the "Super 6" last night. Jermaine Taylor got KO'd again- but this time it was by a body shot. Also, there were two new fighters to the tournament, but they were unknowns. I hope I have another dream about the "6" and AA and Kessler are in it...(no ****)

Abraham definitely had a great start with the KO win because he received 3 points for it. That means that even with a draw against Dirrell(which I doubt because I see Abraham overpowering him) he could potentially keep the lead after the first round. Sure, Kessler could score a knockout of his own against Ward but I don't think so. I'm actually giving Ward a very solid chance of getting a decision over Kessler. If the fight was in Denmark then it would have been unlikely, but with the fight taking place in the US there are much better chances for a skilled boxer like Ward.
