Im going to say it again. Far too many people sleep on Berto. Stop judging the guy badly because he had difficult fights with guys who were "Southpaws". I just dont understand why people dont talk about that enough. Even some of the ATG's have hell with Southpaws. Even Southpaws have hell with Southpaws. Its no coincednece that the #1 guy in the game right now is a Southpaw, or that the great Klit brothers had there toughest fights with the Southpaw Sanders, or that Floyd's legendary defnense has only really been penetrated by Corley & Zab, or that the super freak Paul Williams was beat convincenly over 12 rounds by the Southpaw Quintana. It matters and people need to stop overlooking that.

I have said a million times that Berto would look way better against a Mosley or Cotto. I genuinely think he beats Cotto and if Mosley didnt have Richardson in his corner then I could see him beating him too. I hate the fact that if he does beat Mosley then people are going to say what everyone said in this thread about Mosley overlooking him, or being too old, or too inactive or whatever. The reason why Shane isnt quick to make this fight is because he knows Berto is a risky matchup for him and Cotto knows that too. Thats why he didnt jump at the fight. The kid is lighting quick and throws mad combos. Thats going to give those guys fits.

Its not the same against a Southpaw. Then he has an idiot trainer who told him to go the wrong way all night long against Urango because his right hook is his main punch. Thats why he looked crappy. No good trainer wouldve told him to go the opposite way, no matter how powerful the guy's right hook is. Its not natural

So what if Richardson is in Mosley's corner? Hearns had Steward in his corner and still lost to both Hagler and Barkley. ****m is no miracle worker either!

Doubt it. He hasn't been fighting for a year by that time and Berto's got a solid chin. I see a very close fight.

1st off I think Steward is the most overrated trainer in boxing history. What has he really ever done? He got guys when they were already champs and stars. The only guy he brought from the begining is Hearns and we could all see that he was just a freak of nature.

I do think a trainer can make a real difference. Look at Zab. Are you going to tell me that he couldnt be better without his idiot dad as the trainer? I legitmatly think that Mosley wouldve beat Cotto if he had Richardson in that 1st fight. I think the guy really knows what he's doing and Mosley didnt reach his full ability with his dad training him his whole career. I bet anything that he wouldve struggled with Margarito if his dad was training him.

I truly respect ****m. Im a Floyd fan but my biggest worry for Floyd against Mosley is Richardson. I respect his ability that much and I think he can change the way Shane fights and make better game plans. Shane sucks at making adjustments. Look at all his losses. He fought the same way in the 12th as he did in the 6th and in the 1st. He never adjust. If its not working then he's going to lose. You see guys like Floyd & JMM always make adjustments. Thats when a good trainer like Naz helps him

I don't see this as the blow out that people are making it out to be. I'm leaning towards Mosley but idk why is everyone thinking it will be walk in the park, Berto is not a come-forward fighter.

Better hope to get a rematch. And if he loses that also, retire.

If Berto wins, Mayweather might fight him.
