Freddie Roach Hinting to a Pac Man Loss

Is Freddie Playing mind games, or has he discovered too late that Cotto may be very dangerous for Pac man. I read an article that Roach is saying if pac gets to the ropes, cotto will win, also in the 1st 24/7, you can see a little irritation with Raoch and Paquaio, are they setting up a backup story in the event pac gets laid out or loses a decision, or is ROach playing mind games with Cotto to throw him off.

My take on this match up is this, Manny Paquaio and camp may be too infatuated with the big wins over Oscar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton. Ricky was never that good to begin with, and Oscar - well he hasnt fought @ WW for 10 years, I think I would have beat Oscar to a decision that night - LOL. My new prediction is Cotto Stops Paquaio late - or ROach throwing in the towel at some point. ROach will say in an interview that Pac is too small for that weight class, then, that sets up a rubber match with Juan Manuel Marquez @ 140

Cotto's win will throw a new twist in the mix, Shane Mosley will hope to get a rematch with Cotto - so he can force Mayweather to fight him - if he wins impressively. Mayweather will see Pacs weaknesses in the Cotto fight, then he will try to sell the fight by saying he did a better job against Marquez than Pac did, while he ditches Mosley again......

...........or Paquaio Blasts Cotto into Oblivion - setting up a huge Mayweather showdown, if Mayweather has the balls.

Everytime I count against Manny Pac - I end up wrong, my only correct prediction was the first fight with Morales. Lets see, but I got a gut feeling Cotto puts some heat on Pac.

from what i saw on 24/7 is pac appears to be leaning more on his political side now like its coming close to being first over boxing, he puposely was stalling to leave baguio after roach was bitchin about leaving that night and pac said the morning which didnt happen. roach sees that and is trying 2 put pac in check which is not going to happen and frustration imo is what has freddie boy talking defeat

keeping off the ropes had always been the strategy in his past fights against oscar and ricky. nothin new.

watching the first episode of pacman cotto 24/7 i can see they had alot of problems but im sure in the next 2 episodes they will be alot of improvments . i dont think pacman will stay at the roeps he will move alot and be hard for cotto to ge clean shots on his body but im sure pacman has done alot of body conditioning so it will be hard to go down easily .

You could've put that at the top of your post and saved me the trouble.

Roach is just been careful, He knowns Cotto still have something left in him and he wants his fighter to take the fight seriously, If he feels like Pac is slacking then he would see a defeat coming.

Roach knows this is a very tough fight and maybe the preparation hasnt been as good as these guys have been saying.
What I have also noticed is Cotto's stance has changed,he covers his chin well then launches the jab.Pacquiao isnt really a multi skilled fighter but one dimensional and he might not land that hook to the chin and the rollover.Without landing that shot what else does Pacquiao bring apart from taking a loss at the hands of Cotto?
Roach is a good trainer but he knows Manny has bitten more than he can chew.Roach's probably now concentrating on Amir Khan and telling him to move over but you are right ,he can sense trouble.

In a way I like Roach,he's got a long term outlook and is quite principled. Many fighters get destroyed when they have everyone trying to advise them

Lately, I'm leaning more towards Cotto winning this fight.

Roach should be working on the left uppercut of Pacquiao's, Cotto's defensive posture lends itself to that as an opening.
