Its tough to see any current boxer as being the greatest. Its easier to see in hindsight. For Mayweather to be on that level I feel he would have to face and beat the Pac/Cotto winner and Shane Mosley. Even then maybe winning a title at 160lbs would be called for. Lastly I think Mayweather would have to lose at some point. Epic losses in the career of greats somtimes helps define how one deals with adversity. Dude has had some already like breaking his hand in a fight with lots of rounds to go but has never had to come back after a loss.

too late for him. you can't become the greatest before the end of ur career. this is determined by looking at all of ur career and he wasted way too much time.

So for all u nuthuggers...MAYWEATHER WILL NEVER BECOME THE ATG. so give it a rest

from from being the greatest. not even in this era. he has a lot of options in a welterweight division but he wouldnt even want to touch any welterweight boxers right now. how can you make him the best in this era if the last 2 fights he had wasnt even in a welterweight division? he may be undefeated but he is not looking for any challenge. he is looking for easy fights. he could have fought some of the welterweight top boxers but as you know he isn't looking to fight any of them. i dont hate Mayweather. he is a skilled defensive boxer but we all know he isn't boxing. he is running even against smaller JMM. FLoyd fans keep saying he could KO JMM, if he wanted to, he could beat Mosley, Cotto, Margarito etc. and easily beat Manny but you cannot back up you claim. How can you hit a fighter when most of the time he spend in the ring is running around and waiting for the guy to open up and take a potshots or some jabs. is that what you all call boxing skills? i think not. he may be as good as you all think but he has to prove it in the boxing ring.

I don't think there are enough opponents around for him to genuinely top guys like Robinson, Ali, Armstrong, etc..

Beating Mosley, Pacquiao & maybe Cotto would place him above Whitaker as the greatest post-80s boxer though in my opinion.
