Are people too hard on Chavez jr

Are people too hard on Chavez jr ? i think so, i know he fights lower echelon fighters and that he should of stepped up ages!!! ago but i still think he get a lot of unfair criticism, ive heard people call him a bum.

He has his limitations as fighter but ive always like him, he always puts on a good fight almost everytime he fight, unless he scores an early KO.

Being the main event on a PPV and fighting a nobody is BS but i still think people should lay off the kid.

I can care two ****s about him or his skills, all I know is he's a dumb ass for fighting on PPV all the time, especially since it's against bums. He needs to fight on the undercards on HBO or Showtime or do the main event on ESPN or Versus like everyone else. Build your **** up, work your way to the top then fight on PPV's. It only isolates himself from the masses doing what he's doing (making money off his dads name!).

I know he's still young but after 40 fights you should step your game up.

I just wish he would have made up his mind sooner. He did not want to be a professional fighter. He did not want to be a fighter at all, hence his lack of amateur record which is like two fights I think. He is by no means a ppv worthy fighter though.

Yes people are too hard on him, he's in a no win situation.

Even if he turns out to be a decent fighter, it won't matter. Having a father like he does is like being Michael Jordans son playing basketball. No matter what he does he can never fill the shoes of his father and because of it people will call him a bum.

Maybe a little but it's understandable, he's put on PPV main events, ranked in the top 10 by the WBC while beating nobodies, it says something about his level of opposition when John Duddy will be a step up after 40 odd fights.

It's not his fault he is a PPV attraction. His management control his career, and he sells in his homeland. Easy money.

I just hope 2010 is his break-through year for competing at the top against legit contenders. He isn't as bad as people suggest, but it's easy to look good against his level of competition when groomed right. I like the guy and wish for good things. Never easy when your dad is one of the greatest boxers from Mexico of all-time.
