Shane ain't nearly as fast as he used to be. None (Including myself) and the commentaors didn't expect Cotto to be faster then Shane, I was stunned. I don't see his speed causing problems. Then the foot speed isn't there. Most want the match up because of Shane's status. Shane needs someone to stand in front of him and Mayweather ain't that dude. You can't trouble Mayweather with hand-speed unless you have the foot speed to be in range and Shane doesn't have that anymore.

Can dirrell match Floyd on foot-speed?

Gayweather will never have the courage to fight the Welterweights.

If they ever fought Shane's handspeed would be a factor, but I dont think it would be decisive. I dont think the way to beat Floyd is thru outspeedin him. I'd think that if you want to beat Floyd you have to do it by outworking him, using footspeed to get yourself in range to throw in flurries. Floyd could handle Zab's speed so he wouldnt be that thrown off by handspeed

I'd say Mayweather has a great advantage over Mosley in terms of handspeed now,ten years ago it's fairly even but not anymore.

                Doesn't matter.

I don't think so. Mosley is quick nowadays. He use to be fast. I think a primed shane would be too much for a primed mayweather but this is 2009. Mayweather would get touched by shane but would avoid the big shots to outpoint shane in a good boxing match. I also think that manny can do the same thing in a fight with mosley. Remember, these fighters don't tire easliy and that's why they'd be able to sustain a good work rate for 12 rounds. Shane fights in spurts and the chances of him catching either 1 of these fighters with a bomb is highly unlikely. I agree with him fighting berto in january though. It's a unification fight that needs to happen for the division. And although on paper it seems as if shane should win convincingly, berto will pose some problems for shane similar to what cotto did. The hand-speed of berto, youth, stamina, atheleticism will make it anybody's fight. If berto ever gets a brain, he'll be around a good while but he has to smarten up immediately if he wants to be a key player @ 147.
