    Payrates for boxers

How about this for an idea that would never seriously happen, but would be good if it did?:

Boxers getting paid on the quality of their performance. How many boxers have you seen turn up for a pay day only to give a completely crap performance? And the majority of that include some of Tyson's one round victims with their "I've got my million, I'll stay down" mentality. Etienne should have had his pay docked by two thirds at least.

But go the other way - fighters who put in a performance above and beyond the call get paid bonuses.

The reason for the thread? Just saw Pac vs. Morales - did those guys not want a rest or what? And full credit to Morales for continuing to take flush shots in the final round when many, many fighters would have got on their bike for a points win.

It would be a system bound for failure. If the promoters had anything to do with it than nobody would get paid.

They already take care of the fighters that put on a good show. I went out and fought up in lansing for a $250 purse. Me and this guy got fighting and I just pounded on him hard and never stopped. The guy was trying to fight back but I just crushed him hard. He would go to the canvas 3 times in the first round and I would win the fight. The promoter came up and gave me my check for the fight plus an additional $50 saying, "you put on a great show." $50 aint much but its an additional 20% of the agreed purse.

They are takin care of. The ones who laydown in fights over nothing are either pushed aside and never again used by the promoter or brought back often to buid one of their fighters records. Its all in the game..............Rockin'

Some boxers have established themselves to get to the top of the food chain. Even though they are either old or not exciting anymore they still get the moolah. DLH is a good example.
