Doncaster's Jason Rushton has been placed in a drug-induced coma after being stopped in a Central Area light-middleweight fight on Friday night.
Rushton was stopped with one second left in the final round, moments after being floored by Brian Rose in Bolton.
The 26-year-old collapsed in the backstage area and was rushed to hospital, with the remainder of the bill at the Bolton Arena cancelled.

Jason Rushton, a light-middleweight from Doncaster, was in a drug-induced coma in hospital on Saturday after collapsing following a title bout in Bolton on Friday night.
Rushton, 26, collapsed and was rushed to hospital after he was stopped in the tenth and final round of a Central Area title fight against Brian Rose, an encounter that directly followed Ryan Rhodes's European light-middleweight title win over Jamie Moore.
Rushton was a long way behind and had been knocked down earlier in the tenth. He was allowed to continue but Steve Gray, the referee, stopped to bout with just one second of the contest remaining with Rushton unde heavy pressure on the ropes.
He left the ring on unsteady legs and is believed to have collapsed outside his changing room. The rest of the bill, including a welterweight bout that was in progress, was cancelled as doctors and an anaesthetist - who the British Boxing Board of Control requires to be ringside - went in the ambulance with Rushton.

Frank Maloney, who promoted the show, said Rushton had suffered a bleed on the brain and had been operated on to relieve pressure on the brain. However they had not discovered a blood clot. Rushton is expected to be in a drug-induced coma for at least the next 24 hours before doctors decide the next course of action.
"Jason had walked back to the changing-room with the doctor before he collapsed," said Robert Smith, the general secretary of the British Boxing Board of Control. "Doctors are monitoring Jason's condition. He is in a drug-induced coma, which is the normal procedure for this type of injury. They will know more in 24 hours or so."
