Erik "El Terrible" Morales is on vacation and is dedicated to forget anything that smells like gym or training. We caught up with him yesterday in Tijuana, the great Mexican star is enjoying to the fullest his victory over Filipino, Manny Pacquiao last Saturday in Las Vegas.
The first thing that "El Terrible" said was that he doubts that he can fight a rematch with Manny Pacquiao in September like the rumors going around in the Internet and he explained why:
"For one thing i have an agreement with Top Rank and i have dates to fight in July and November. The September dates arent mine. Secondly, Pacquiao cant be my opponent for July. It would be too soon for a rematch, pacquiao needs to heal up and regain himself from the fight we just had."
Morales added, "Look if they offer me a fight against Pacquiao and the money is right, I will gladly accept it, but i doubt that it will happen soon"
Morales explained that in a week he expects to join up with the Top Rank directors, Bob Arum, Tod Duboef, and Fernando beltran who is also his manager. "In a week we will know who my next opponent will be", Morales said.
Erik expressed his wishes are to dispute the lightweight world championship at 135lbs or fight at superfeatherweight again against another highly ranked oppenent or a title shot in the division.
Erik also said he would start training the beginning of June for his fight late July.
On another note Erik said after taking care of a few personal matters he would go to the Ba***** on vacation with his partnet, Andrea Mora.
