Vitali is very fresh for his age. He always stays in good condition and doesn't abuse his body. Gomez has been messing around for years, not giving a damn about his body or mind, and relying on his skill to get him by, not unlike James Toney. There comes a point when sheer skill alone isn't enough, and that happens against the best. Gomez coming off the Sam win in 2003 would have been a better test for Vitali. I by no means think he would have beaten Vitali, but at the very least he would have done much better, and would have had a chance.

Gomez has more skill than most of the heavyweight champions from the last 10 years.

Adamek was completely weight drained and sick for that fight, everyone knows that, he was killing himself to make 175, that's why he moved up 25 lbs to cruiserweight (200lbs). Sick weight drained Adamek still knocked down and badly hurt Dawson and won the last 3 rounds.

Adamek would destroy chinny Dawson at cruiserweight or heavyweight.

Hence the no rematch... Granted had Dawson been a 40 year old has been you would be crying for a rematch. Why don't Adamek push for a Dawson rematch then? We all saw the fight and know the answer - Dawson is a much better boxer. Haye is not as good of a boxer but he has huge power and Adamek can't put anyone out on a single punch China chinned or not.
