Agreed. He has a good, very hard punch, but his real greatness lie in his accuracy, ability to get inside quick, and once there, unload hard combinations with both hand on target.

Man I must be watching a different fight because there was no ****ing way TOS hurt Wlad. Wlad went down by a flash knockdown and then got up and attacked TOS. The only time Wlad was hurt was when he was headbutted and the fight had to stop.

That is just silly. You are speaking of the Williamson fight in which he was not even REMOTELY hurt. Williamson caught him off balance after throwing a right hand and hit him and just knocked him off balance.

Wlad did a little half-squat and his glove and a knee touched the canvas for one second or less. Then he came back and attacked Williamson immediately- the only person hurt at all in the round was Williamson, that's why on 2 judges cards he didn't get a 10-8 round for the 'knockdown.'

Touch of Sleep Williamson almost did put Wlad to sleep and Wlad appeared so disconfident througout the entire bout. If Wlad would have obliterated TOS there would have been more hope for his career.

Wlad has a bad chin. Sanders caught other guys with his big left (notably Hasim Rahman with several BIG lefts and Rahman will never be mistaken for George Chuvalo in the chin department) who didnt go down or flair around the ring like Wlad did. Also, before the 5th round, Brewster caught Wlad with a left hand in the 3rd round and Wlad was wobbling all over the place. Before the Sanders loss, Wlad didnt get hit with big punches b-c A) Universum didnt put him in with big punchers unless they were completly shot (Mercer) or had were unskilled glass chinners (Jefferson)
              B) His opponents were so intimidated by his size and jab that they fought out of a shell the whole fight (McCline)

The what if argument is silly . . . what if pigs flied?

Basically this whole notion of Wlad having a weak chin is from fans with Weak Minds. Old Jedi Mind trick only works on the "weak-minded" remember? Well when Lampley is calling Wlad's chin "glass" during a fight, and Merchant is saying he can't take a punch, then all these guys watching tv start nodding and it's accepted as fact.

The facts are he got his with pure bombs by Sanders (who is a puncher) and he got up and kept getting hit with them because of his inexperience with being hurt and lack of defense. He must have gotten hit with about 7-8 flush bombs from Sanders in that fight- and he got right up every time.

The Brewster fight will always be a mystery. He wasn't hurt- he was exhausted. He loooked like he was going to fall over on his own in the last round- BEFORE he got hit with anything.

The notion of his having a weak chin is purely a result of the HBO commentators and then message board bandwagoners who read and repeat like sheep.

sanders is a huge puncher, prior to getting KTFO by lewis, rahman said that sanders hit him harder than anyone else, including tua... sanders can flat out punch, it's about the only thing he can do, because defense, stamina and jabbing are not in his vocabulary.... i dont think wlad takes a great shot, but its not fair to judge him off the sanders fight, where he kept getting up from the canvas...
