    It may be that this dude is just talking to hype himself up and feed-off of the massive publicity Pac-Cotto fight is generating.

    Although it can also be said the guy must be telling the truth.

    Me... I'd dont really know.

            you must have forgot that cotto already handled bailey
            You keep bringing up Bailey. I don't know why. Get off the triangulation theory.

            Gato can not beat Cotto for two reasons. Gato is a JWW and is too small, Cotto is better than Gato.

            You are reinforcing my point. Sparring and fighting are two different things. You might be the heavier puncher, and can hurt me in a bout, but the 16 oz gloves and headgear negate that advantage. Now, with your big advantage gone, i can take risks that level the playing field.

            Because Cotto can beat Gato in a bout, doesn't mean that Gato can't get the better of Migs in sparring. History is FULL of examples of that happening.

            You REALLY need to stop with the Bailey stuff. That is irrelevant.

              Cotto is right.

              Gato = sparring partner/gym warrior.

              Cotto= world champion/fighter/ warrior

              Gato is talking like he's the man or something. He's just a sparring partner for good fighters. He never accomplished anything big in a real fight. Because like Cotto said...there are people who grow in fights, and people who grow in sparring.

              Both fought Randal Bailey........

                Now I can agree with you,but If the 1d Bailey can beat Gato by KO, a guy cotto beat in 6 rounds a few years back, that should mean cotto would beat gato 1 on 1. The Tri theory doesnt work,but in this rare case it does.Cotto's more versatile and would be a nightmare for gato..

                I agree sparring is different,but I was never referring to it in the 1st place Speaking of Randal Bailey ,he is relevant because he proves my point,meaning both cotto and gato faught the guy and what happened?

                  I'm inclined to believe Cotto. Getting straight to the point, Gato came across as an unprofesional individual in that interview and I think he has shot himself in the foot because people will be turned off by his attitude.

                    Pacquiao style if frenetic and not textbook many times, but there is method behind that madness. Pacquiao is a very saavy fighter and a long time vet, and his offensive fighting style and variety in which he delivers his punches is more sophisticated than Gato can ever attempt to understand.

                    My guess is Gato was clowning like this video (about 1:10 and 2:30min in).

                    The "odd angles" he was giving was probably just too crude, really freelancing, and he was likely being a punk... just like this video.

                    My guess is Gato lacks any sophistication, and thinks being "wild" is emulating Manny Pacquiao because that's all he's capable of, but couldn't be further than truth. Pacquiao will give you the biz, but it's a controlled aggression, with specific moves, behind a gameplan and he's shown to be very patient in picking and choosing spots.

                    That's not preparing Cotto.

                    Get his ass outta there, and Cotto doesn't need to give a reason or not, it's his camp.
