Miranda always looks like a beast against B and C-class opponents but every time he steps up and fight someone he loses. He needs to improve his game a lot in order to be threat to the best in the world. Right now he only got a punchers chance. That's too bad cause he's one exciting fighter who always brings it.

Miranda is a getekeeper nothing more. You can feed him all the bums and he will KO them, but take him to the championship or the number 1,2 contender level and he will get owned, either KOed (Abraham, Pavlik) or outboxed and will got through a clinic (Ward).Comment

Suggestion for Opportunity
With all the hype around the 168lbs. tourney, ESPN or Versus should set up a double header w/ Edison Miranda v. Peter Manfredo Jr. & Sakio Bika v. Jesse Brinkley. Reality show contenders v. real contenters, would get good ratings, and fit nicely between the first two rounds of the tourney.Comment

My pick in those match-ups:
Miranda by 5th round KO
Saiko Bika by 3rd round KOComment

I was at the fight. Miranda did what he had to do and no doubt I can see a lot of improvement that Goossen has been working on. He still needs more work. But I think with a few more months of training and maybe one more tune up, he will be a much better fighter and worthy of being in the Super Six.
In my eyes, he beats Froch and Direll right now. With a little more school from Joe Goossen, he may be able to give the other 3 a great fight. Much better then anything Allan Green could ever do.
