    Gatti - "It’s a good thing I wasn’t there yesterday!"

New York - Arturo Gatti has been called many things; a warrior, the franchise, the human highlight reel, boxing’s pound-for-pound most exciting fighter, thunder, world champion, - you get the idea. [details]

As I said in another thread, I'm disappointed by the lack of respect that Mayweather is displaying for the classy and experienced warrior in Arturo Gatti.

Thanks for sharing the article. Though I'm still rooting for Mayweather, I'm hoping Gatti will at least make him respect him more.

I wish Gatti wins this fight. i don`t think he has a chance, only if Mayweather for some reason decides to trade with him on the inside, but he won`t be that ******!

I like the way Mayweather fight but he is showing too much disrespect to a battle tested ring gladiator. I'll go for Gatti for sentimental reasons.

          Gatti has a chance

On paper Gatti's chances look like nothing, based on who he has lost to previously. However, watch one of his earlier fights (I think the one against De La Hoya is available in the gallery videos), and then watch a recent one like the second Ward fight or later. He is seriously a different fighter now. He is quicker, his footwork is tons better, the jab is better, and he has a fantastic straight right hand. Everyone talks about his left hook, but in recent fights his straight right hand has been beautiful. Plus he is much bigger than Floyd. I would pick Mayweather to win, but Gatti definately has a legitimate shot. He is not the same fighter who lost to Ivan Robinson.
