If the rematch clause stipulates that you either exercise it or lose it, then he had to do this

He’s got a shot if he flies me in to help him in camp, he’s got no head movement, throws one shot at a time, not to mention the same shot, over and over again and doesn’t know how to put punches together or counter. I can change all that in a couple fights or a long camp!Comment

Was there a penalty if he turned down the fight? A substantial amount of $$$$? Do they have to fight each other next or can they have an interim bout?
I recall Leonard immediately getting the return with Duran because he knew Duran was partying like the wild man he was and would be out of shape. That rematch was I think 3 or 4 months after Montreal.Comment

This may be Fabio Wardley last big chance at being a World Champion 'he has to take the rematch'.
Fabio Wardley skill for skill, is not much higher than a European level fighter 'so? If he was not to take this rematch. And continue his career back down at domestic level, then there is a likely-hood that he would be winning fights but sustain higher damage'.
Note: The facts are. Fabio Wardley was embroiled in a brutal fight vs. Frazier Clarke 'as much as I don't rate Daniel Dubois as an elite level fighter. Even I will acknowledge that no version of Daniel Dubois is ever being embroiled in 12 round fight vs. Frazier Clarke'.
I would back Daniel Dubois to win the rematch vs. Fabio Wardley 'but? I still think Wardley can be a live and dangerous underdog. He has the power to hurt Dubois, but his boxing fundamentals need to be substantially improved'.
Fabio Wardley could make a lot of fights easier for himself 'if he had a better defence, jab and spatial awareness inside a boxing ring'. He has been getting through all of his recent fights at top level, with pure determination, aggression and power'.
Fabio Wardley has lost I estimate 90 to 95% of all the boxing rounds he has fought at World level 'he needs to be able to not only hurt fighters and deck them. But actually win rounds consistently'.
This is the difference between Fabio Wardley, Anthony Joshua 'they have both been beaten by Dubois'.
But? Anthony Joshua has the ability to win rounds vs. elite level heavyweight fighters 'only Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua in a skill for skill boxing fights where able to win rounds vs. Oleksandr Uysk as a Heavyweight Champion'.
I don't really think Daniel Dubois was winning round vs. Oleksandr Uysk 'but he was pushing him, and making the challenge to win rounds for Uysk difficult. From a pure technical and skill perspective, you could see the levels in difference between Dubois and Uysk'.
Whereas both Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua 'are a lot closer to Oleksandr Uysk in terms of boxing skill'.
To conclude: Fabio Wardley has made the right choice in my opinion imitating this rematch clause; he is at his peak as a fighter 'so he might as well go again'.
Many people complained over the referee, I personally think the referee performed great 'boxing is a dangerous sport. And people need to accept this. Fighters train not so referee's can stop the fight as soon as they are hurt'.
And people may say things like? But there are consequences of letting such a brutal fight continue. There are consequences in life in many professions. And people still go out there and do it. Fighters fight, and that is why we respect them and refer to them as gladiators'.
Professional fighters are sometimes retired because they don't want to fight anymore 'Fabio Wardley wants to fight, and he was defending his WBO World Heavyweight title'.
Toney Bellew was the only former professional fighter 'who told people straight in his own words. Fabio Wardley was defending his WBO World Heavyweight title, and he was still trying to win'.
You don't stop the fight, or pull a fighter out of a fight 'when they are renowned for their power punching and still trying to win'.
This is why I never agreed with Deontay Wilder being pulled out of his second fight vs. Tyson Fury 'and I don't agree with the people complaining over the potential late stoppage of Fabio Wardley vs. Daniel Dubois I'.
I fully understand from a compassionate perspective why people make those sort of comments 'But really? If people want to be all compassionate. Then go and volunteer for something you really care about. Nature and Animals, people in unfortunate circumstances the list goes on'.
I see people mocking fighters all the time for losing fights, and then those same people 'want to portray themselves as all compassionate towards the fighters'.
Fabio Wardley as former Champion 'had to take this rematch. That says a lot of his competitive nature, and it is inspiring. I can only commend both fighters if they agree for this immediate rematch' etc.

So now will Dubois have to wait for Wardley to get ready? man, that will take about a year.
In a rematch better fighter usually wins easier.👍 1Comment

Happens all of the time, Dubois got rocked early when he didn't have the timing down yet and Wardley is a heavy handed fighter. Wardley's likely best bet here to win is an early blitz if it doesn't happen he'll get stopped again but earlier.Comment

It could go in Wardley's favor but what concerns me is the beating he took who will he be when he steps back into the ring what will his reaction's and reaction times. Not just with Dubuois but with anyone. It is smart for the money bc it will generate a lot of attention from the first signing and with a lotta hype it will get the numbers way up. Who wins is the promoters and the platforms they are the big winners in the rematch. And remember rematch's are often a coin flip too much ridding to much thinking too much money involved.Comment

...like the dubious home-cooked decision to gift Fabio a stoppage win over a clearly still on his feet and slipping punches Joseph Parker.
