Mandatory doesn't mean ****. If it doesn't make dollars, it doesn't make sense.

Besides, Eastman, Vargas,Taylor,Soliman,Carrera, and Allen are all ranked higher than Sturm. In that order.

I'm surprized no one has mentioned the winner of Trinidad-Mayorga since its the same weightclass and happening so close together. I'm not sure the if Tito would be lining up for a rematch against Hopkins, he'd probably fight DLH instead. But if Mayorga wins he might take on Bernard.

On the Sturm fight, the kids got Talent but I think Hopkins would outsmart him and win a tactical fight. Sturm only really has one punch: the straight left from either stance. His defense might be tough to crack though.

Only Eastman deserves the shot more...I say he won't take it. He is a strange dude. STURM is no. 1 WBO. He is the perfect new "GoldenBoy"...watch and you will see the PR **** machine go into diarrhea overdrive.

A great jab and tight guard makes an older fighter ancient in a hurry....

Either way I don't see this fight happening yet if ever.

I think Taylor would beat Sturm. Taylor isn't ready to fight Hopkins yet. He needs a few more fights and by the time he gets them Hopkins will be retired. Taylor should be the next dominate middleweight though I hope he is because he is more exciting to watch than Hopkins.

Well guys I hate to say it but I don't see ANY of those guys even surviving against hopkins. Oscar was at or above the level of all the boxers that you've mentioned and hopkins destroyed him. And jermaine taylor is a great up and coming fighter, but i really dont think he is capable of beating hopkins. The winner of the tito mayorga fight should NOT try to face hopkins. We already saw what happened to tito, and i really don't even think mayorga will get past tito so that option is out. The only thing i see hopkins doing is remaining in his weight until he gets his 20th defense then either retire, or move up for one last big payday against whoever (hopefully tarver) then hang up the gloves.

Hell Taylor aint even fought a legit middleweight yet
He definitely needs 2 more fights against legitimate middleweights prior to facing Hopkins.

I think that at this point in his career he would give Bernard a run for his money, but I don't believe his victory is yet in the bag.

I do think, though, that Hopkins sees the writing on the wall. He's never been one to duck fights, but he realizes that he's getting old and he needs to make his money now.

I'm both sad and glad that this fight will likely never happen. I think that Hopkins will make a defense against an average opponent to get his 20, then he will move on to the money.
