The boxing farce continues and this right here says it all ...... "...first WBC welterweight title defense by Garcia versus his top-ranked contender". How in the world is Benn Garcia's "top-ranked" contender and who ranked him?

Garcia vs Haney would have been the best option. A grudge match and a unification to boot. To be fair to both, Garcia is America's social media star and Benn is the British version with a famous last name.
If that fight happens, I expect Garcia to lose. Benn is another Rolly. Perhaps a better version.

You know TKO/Zufffa/UFC stole billions of dollars from their fighters over the years. Even after the lawsuit and paybackof 300 million and even when the next settlement which is expected to be around a Billion dollar they still have so many Billions left the took out of their fighters pocket. Giving Benn 15 Million or maybe even let Turki paythe half does not hurt them.

At this stage they don't care about profit, they know once they took over and they will run the UFC scheme that Billions will come in since they will get 90 percent of the total leaving the fighters begging for peanuts.

It was the same Ryan a guy with talent and handspeed lacking fundamentals and heart. He will always get exposed against fighters that are at or very close to world level with power in their hands.

Its scummy but taking that out of it, makes business sense in the long run if successful to control the fighter's careers and sign them to slave contracts.

IDK if it can be done in this era, what Hopkins did with the WBA title where he held it, made defenses, until odds makers got it wrong when they thought Tito would demolish him but he pretty much controlled his career even if he had to wait to become a star.

He was heavily implying some kind of back door chicanery was going on but again like I said I've no idea.
I honest and truly don't believe Eddie gives AF about losing Benn. What exactly is he losing? He'll chuff and whine like he cares, but I know he doesn't. Benn has to be matched with tweezers. Once he gets crushed, and he will, he'll have almost zero marketing value going forward because his skills hit their ceiling years ago.

He’s the WBC welterweight champion. You may not like him. You may be jealous of him but you cannot deny he is world class talent. Boxers lose. That’s the business. Anything else?
