          Sweeping uppercut, and yes a lot of the time the "wind-up" is a part of it.

          In the 1950's the commentators would call pretty much every uppercut a "bolo punch".

            In a book, I read Kid Gavilan learned the motion from chopping sugar cane in Cuba with machette.

                    it's the same motion.

                    ceferino garcia was before kid gavilan though that's how the term bolo punch got coined. they asked him why he threw a punch like that and he told them of how he use to use a bolo to chop stuff up in philippines.
