that's what roach first said a long time ago.

now with the fight so close i think everything he says now is just mind games.

I think he did the same thing in the Hatton fight. He predicted a hard fought 12 round decision at first, but later changed his mind to a 3rd round KO.

So really, at this point who really knows besides Roach himself?

          pilyo2bay:
I saw it in a different view bro. Pacquiao will win by TKO

          1) Dela Hoya might turn his back due to volume of hard punches which he can't accomodate.
          2) Dela Hoya's corner will throw their towels signalling to stop the fight just to save Dela Hoya's too much punishment.
          3) When the bell rings in the ninth round Dela Hoya will not answer and he will just shake his head saying "no mas,no mas".

How about that observer guy? This is what he said dated 10/30/08:

"Whoever imposes his will over the other, will win. I truly believe that Pacquiao can hurt De La Hoya, and vice-versa. Oscar has never faced a boxer as fast and as quick as Manny, offensively. Mayweather, Whitaker and Forbes are quick, but on the defensive side, and Manny has never met a boxer that is as heavy-handed as Oscar. All it takes is one left hook, and we may be in for a very short night. I don't believe Oscar will fight the sissy way, and that is to keep Pacquiao off of him, courtesy of his long left jab. He will go for the kill early, just like how he fought Ricardo Mayorga or like what JMM did in his first meeting with Pacquiao. JMM thought that he was the bigger guy, he really was the bigger guy, but not the bigger puncher, and he found out the hard way and fast! If Manny can pick his spots and avoid Oscar's early onslaught, he has a good chance to take this one. I really believe he will fight the way he fought David Diaz. Manny turned into a virtual "meat tenderizer" and massaged Diaz' face and body the whole night. Manny thought Diaz was ripe for the picking in the 8th round, and tried to pick up his offense, try watching the fight again. His punches from the 8th round onwards has evil intentions behind it. Manny will try to do a repeat and will try to "tenderize" Oscar until he's ripe for the picking, it will be probably be in the middle rounds, between the 6th to the 8th round.

Both fighters will be hard pressed to win this one, and somebody will quit on his stool in the 9th round, and for who that quitter is, your guess is as good as mine (ODLH)!"

Here's another from him dated 12/03/08:

"I'm not keen on Oscar tagging Manny with his killer left because he will be lethargic come fight night, that's what a big overnight weight gain can do to you. He will be a step or two slower all night, he will try to overwhelm Manny with his two-fisted attack, IF he can find Manny, that's a BIG IF. I'm seeing Manny feigning Oscar, going in and out, left to right (vice-versa), sideways, backpedal and rush forward to befuddle Oscar. When the fight is on the trenches, Oscar's reach advantage will be nullified. Manny will break Oscar down with his vaunted left and his new-found right. He will switch target more than any of his previous fights. I'm pretty sure Manny will test Oscar's breadbasket while tagging Oscar's pretty face every now and then. Oscar won't know what hit him and quit on his stool just before the bell rings in the 9th round."
