I don't think you can say with certainty what Roach's real prediction is. As far as we know his prediction is Pacquiao by KO in round 1.

I think he did the same thing in the Hatton fight. He predicted a hard fought 12 round decision at first, but later changed his mind to a 3rd round KO.

So really, at this point who really knows besides Roach himself?

1) Dela Hoya might turn his back due to volume of hard punches which he can't accomodate.
2) Dela Hoya's corner will throw their towels signalling to stop the fight just to save Dela Hoya's too much punishment.
3) When the bell rings in the ninth round Dela Hoya will not answer and he will just shake his head saying "no mas,no mas".

"Whoever imposes his will over the other, will win. I truly believe that Pacquiao can hurt De La Hoya, and vice-versa. Oscar has never faced a boxer as fast and as quick as Manny, offensively.
