Great assessment. Crawford took Errol's soul, destroyed his will to even fight again. What's scary is that there were fans and "pundits" who actually believed that was a 50/50 fight going in. Even scarier still is that Bud never left first gear that night.

I think some people thought Errol might be the naturally bigger guy since Crawford had come up to WW although did so years prior. That Errol hits hard and Crawford was rocked in a couple fights. To be honest, I think I may have also felt it was 50/50 going in, but after rd.1 or 2, you immediately knew where it was going and that Crawford was levels above Errol. I also stated that Crawford never left first gear in the entire fight because Errol just gave him nothing that he had to divert from and change up.

I told people back as far as 2018 that the fight was a mismatch. Some guys on Facebook believed that Horn would be too "big & strong" for Bud. I just laughed. I knew he would destroy Horn and I knew he'd destroy Errol. Crawford has a wrestling background. People don't realize how physically strong the man is.

No, it was extremely easy to see back then. The only folks who considered that a 50/50 were high on meth. Or a Breadman Edwards disciple.

The only reason Edwards called Crawford-Spence a "50/50 fight" was because he didn't want to offend a fellow trainer in Derrick James.

On a serious note, Spence is/was a front foot heavy fighter. Crawford ate guys like that alive. Predicting that fight was like predicting Mayweather-Pacquiao. Never let emotions overtake logic.
