The biggest opposition is that Zuffa will be able to establish it's own championships.
You know.... like the IBF, WBA, WBC, WBO, The Ring, World Boxing Board, the Transcontinental Board, International Boxing Union, and about 70 other sanctioning boards/bodies have done for generations.
Look, I knoow a ton of those are reginal, simply ranking organizations, or more a ceremonial ranking than a real alphabet sanctioning body. But there was a time there was only one sanctioning organization, and for a while only three at all. Being opposed to something that has been a part of the natural growth of boxing seems silly.
too bad there was no money behind and push for a National Commison of some kind with an outline of something a bit more favorable to all boxing ill's......
Some type of governing body that worked for the good of fighters, fans and the integrity of the sport as a whole. And we were all talking about all the neutral idea's like fair match making, Promoters and Platforms agreeing to use solid drug testing and punishments for failures. A nation wide ranking system devoid of Promoter or platform interfenence, all based on performance inside the ring with strict rules on behaviour outside the ring in reguards to PED's and actions detrimental to boxing as a whole. This is about money and power and the chances of it helping Boxing is very small if at all.
