I blame the state commission, the promoter and her team for this. This young lady belongs in college, not in a fkn boxing ring.

I understand and empathize with her, but her life is worth a lot more than the relative peanuts she gets paid to be a glorified punching bag. Sometimes, people need to be protected from themselves.Comment

lol, so many weird responses here. All a sudden because she's 19 and a female, she belongs in college instead of a boxing ring? I don't think I've ever heard that ever towards a male boxer getting KO'd at a young age.
Yeah, she was KO'd in January but apparently it was from a liver shot instead of headshot, thus the reason they thought she could have another go at it. Nothing wrong if it meant chasing some dreams or giving it another shot.
Now with THIS particular outcome, I would say, she needs to stay as far from any kind of contact sport for the rest of her life. Not even with headgear would I feel safe of her ever receiving another blow to the head.
I'm not saying she just needs to immediately go to college because school isn't always for everyone and maybe she loves the sport enough that she would still like to stick around it in some other manner, though yeah, just stay out of competing.Comment

Imagine that, people think men and women are different and women in general shouldn't pursue fighting as their career choice. SHOCKING! Nobody cares about womens boxing. If somebody was paralyzed from a body shot in mens boxing, people would be calling for that person to retire too. I've seen that happen 0 times in the 100s of fights I've seen over 35 years.lol, so many weird responses here. I do not enjoy this era of "women and men are the same" while advertising degenerate money wagering and OnlyFans during fights.Last edited by chicken-; Yesterday, 09:36 AM.👍 1Comment

I hope she gets a gofundme with the premise of something like "I was hurt in Boxing and now want to go to college to become _________(fill in the blanks). I think people would respond. A few thousand dollars or more could get her into a trade school or a community college.Comment
