So Vergil turned the offer down but Boots team accepted the same deal?
And please who pays 16 Million for this fight this fight will not even generate 15 Million not even close.

"On his own, Mirigian has said he secured two separate offers for Ortiz to fight Ennis, one of which he said would pay the fighter a minimum $16 million."

And even better it says the fighter singular. 16 Million just for Ortiz? What kind of BS is this. Who is willing to just lose 10 million plus on a fight?

Imagine the UFC fighters seeing this : D UFC Fighters who bring in more revenue and have way bigger followings are getting 500K and after the fight they begging for a 50K performance bonus.

ortiz's purses: lubin 500k, bohachuk 800k, madrimov 2 million. he turned down 3 million for ennis? i dont know fam...sounds fair to me. he said oh i was offered 16 millino yet he was ok with acceptiing 7 million? why would that be the case? if you could get 16 millino then get it or ask for it. do not believe you would ever accept 7 million if 16 million was really out there. asking for 7 million is clearly pricing yourself out. 4 maybe but 7?

The $16mil was based on Turki bankrolling an event which would lose money.

                this reminds me of this...

Crawford was offered $6.5 million guaranteed, per sources, along with upside of the pay-per-view at $5 for every buy over 300,000. He countered at $9.5 million with upside at 500,000.

Crawford fought Brook for 4 million no ppv upside. derp.

I agree with you. I'm just speculating based on what was written in the article and the only place that kind of money could come from. Ortiz got bad advice.

i think ortiz got jealous counting other peoples money. ennis was making more than him for easier fights and he said "why isnt that me" and its because ennis has a different promoter/contract then you thats why. now ortiz jr is trying to find loopholes to get out of his contract which is fine but asking for 7 when 3 was offered is clearly him pricing himself out, its not wilder turning down 100 million bad but its a way to get out of the fight unless a crazy amount is offered
