Entering this contest off the back of a controversial decision defeat to top flyweight contender, Steve Erceg, many thought that Ode’ Osbourne (13-9, 1NC) had done enough to earn the nod against “Astroboy” last time out. While “The Jamaican Sensation” is a powerful striker with a huge frame for the division, Osbourne has an unfortunate habit of going out in his shield in pursuit of the victory, with six of his nine defeats coming by way of finish. However, he’s still a solid fighter on his day, a state of affairs underlined by a win over dark horse flyweight contender, Charles Johnson.

Alibi Idiris: Can the Kazakh prospect redeem himself after a disastrous first showing under the lights?
One of the more exciting cast members of TUF 33, things couldn’t have gone much worse for Alibi Idiris (10-1) in his sole UFC appearance to date. Despite closing as an enormous favorite over Joseph Morales in the competition finale at UFC 319, Idiris got absolutely destroyed in less than two rounds, with the submission loss to “Bopo” underlining some significant shortcomings in his jiu-jitsu game. At his best, the Kazakh prospect is a dynamic striker with some serious pop for 125 pounds, combining a frenetic pace with a flashy kickboxing game and solid wrestling to overwhelm his opponents - often in highlight reel fashion.

Idiris serves a prime example of why bookmakers shouldn't slap stratospheric odds on a fighter with exactly zero UFC bouts under their belt.
Despite the Team Cormier standout entering the TUF Finale at -450, Joseph Morales beat the brakes off him, with Idiris unable to offer up much in the way of a response outside of spinning like a Beyblade in the hopes of catching "Bopo" with some form of highlight reel technique.
However, while he looked like a fish out of water on the ground with a grappler of "Bopo's" caliber, that doesn't look to pose a huge concern against Osbourne; a fighter with similar holes in his game evidenced by three submission defeats under the UFC banner. "The Jamaican Sensation" has also proven susceptible to the dynamic striking techniques that Idiris likes to throw, getting crushed by a flying knee against Manel Kape back in 2019.
With that being said, Osbourne's power and reach advantage means that he's an appropriately live dog in this one. The Jamaican had huge moments on the feet even in defeats against the likes of Steve Erceg and Ronaldo Rodriguez, meaning that he's more than capable of putting the TUF finalist's lights out if he gets complacent during the striking exchanges.
This one arguably comes down to whether Idiris can blend his striking with efficient clinch work and well-timed trips to take advantage of Osbourne's well-known Achilles heel. He could get melted by a vicious counter in the process, but the pick is for the TUF finalist to earn redemption and score the close decision victory.fgfb
