This is a full weekend ? especially on Saturday, January 31, with Lopez-Stevenson, plus Bakhram Murtazaliev defending his world title against Josh Kelly; Xander Zayas and Abass Baraou meeting in a unification bout; plus a notable super middleweight bout between Jacob Bank and William Scull.

Bohachuk vs Butaev will be brutal! Xander Zayas and Abass Baraou is intriguing... Bit scared of watching Stevenson vs Lopez as i fear losing an hour i will never get back.

I've convinced myself that there is no way that Shakur is getting a pre-filled scorecard in this fight.

He's not getting extra points for just making a guy miss (which he is overrated at anyway. While he has good vision and elite reflexes, it's mostly a step back defense. It's not a complex defense in comparison to the great defensive guys. Statistically, it appears that he is, but I just don't see some of the other defensive nuance others have that makes me go, "WOW, how did he avoid that?" For example, he hardly changes levels on defense. His head got snapped back plenty of times against Zepeda when he was pinned in the corner. Zepeda got 0 credit for any of that - none for trapping SS, none for throwing 1000 shots, and none for landing just as many shots as SS did). I think that fight was closer than it appeared on the cards, and shouldn't be looked at as some dominating win by SS because Zependa sometimes dictated the geography of the fight. Imagine how the crowd will sound if Teo has SS against the ropes as many times and for as long as Zepeda did.

Anyway, this is more about the fact that Teo is from NYC, he's bringing fans, he got a creative offense, athletic burst- and has the showmanship aspect that, whether we like it or not, can change how the fights are scored. Not saying he wins, but Ieo won't get the Zepeda treatment with 120-108. I think he walks into the fight with 3-4 rounds off top. He still has to win those rounds, I'm just saying he will get more of the benefit of the doubt in close rounds than people might be thinking now. People giving those rounds to SS before the fight starts just like Cruz last week.

And because of all that, I look at it like SS is really going to have to rise to another level in this fight to win. He's the favorite, but he can't just do the normal SS thing, it's got to be even more than against Zepeda. Both guys might draw something out of the other. Hoping for the best
