Very good summary. Muratalla looked so much bigger and stronger then Cruz who was landing clean crisp punches which did not seem to affect Muratalla at all. Cruz is small for the weight and does not have enough stamina to go 12 rounds. When he turned it on in spurts he was by far the superior boxer BUT he could not sustain it and could not hurt Muratalla. I even question if he should be fighting at this weight.Good fight. I thought Muratalla edged it.
Cruz will almost certainly win a strap or two. Good skill set but I think his downfall at top level will be a lack of physical attributes.
Good skills on him but he's small at the weight, a lack of physical strength & he can not punch. Muratalla looked two full divisions bigger.
He's very good technically, skilled but I think the lack in physical attributes & power will see guys who aren't as skilled giving him big problems and potentially beating him simply because he hasn't the power for his style or to command respect. Their size and power advantages will help even out the skill gap.Comment

How is it possible you have never heard of free streams???
QUOTE=DClefthook;n32572659]From DClefthook > I'm just curious. Did you guys pay the $500 annual Dazn fee or are you just going to pay the $44 monthly fee and then pay for all the stand alone PPVs? [/QUOTE]Last edited by richardt; 01-25-2026, 03:39 PM.Comment

Called it. People always go with the hype. I said it's a 50/50 and the corner will make the difference.Comment

Quite curious if Teofimo Lopez Vs Shakur Stevenson comparison about the fight might being similar to this is true. Because Andy is more illusive and offensive though not technically better, and Muratalla is a technical boxer willing to follow a gameplan.
Because Teo tends to lunge in if he is struggling to corner his opponent shown in his fight with Sandor Martin. He doesn't have patience and punch selection to the body, though he is quite athletic counter puncher.
Though his performance with Jamaine Ortiz and Arnold Barboza could be the experience he needed.
Stevenson stylistically wise should be the favorite because he shown a quite more complete skillset and athleticism, but he is moving up, and isn't a particularly big puncher. His punch resistance will be important if he wants to score combinations. Not sure what fighter comes in mind in comparison to Teo, Edwin De Los Santos is a bigger puncher but Stevenson won by barely engaging, Robson Coincecao maybe?
There is Keyshawn vs Ortiz in the undercard, which is just as neat. As Keyshawn is a physical fighter with very precise punch selection against a mover with blistering combinations, but Keyshawn has the right style to wilt him down and catch him.Last edited by Malvado; 01-25-2026, 05:02 PM.Comment

I think these kind of fans are not real boxing fans, I think they just like one or two boxers, or are going for the nationalities. I thought anyone of them could had gotten the nod, it was a highly competitive fight where a draw would have been fitting, as a Cuban I would love to see Cruz winning the fight, but I'm not upset because he didnt, nor I'm claiming robbery, he fought his heart out, faded a little bit 11/12 round, still hold his ground, I think this fight would make him much better that he already. And that you for agreeing, some people don't have the brain to understand the whole picture when critiquing others. I do have a problem with those two judges, 116-112 & 118-110, that was atrocious
Exactly. Then if he is dissing Cruz, since it was a close fight, he is by proxy dissing Muratalla as well. Only a handful of fighters in all of boxing history have won a title with 6 fights or less. Cruz did fantastic under those circumstances and I like how he is both tough and slick. He has an even balance of defense and offence.

I thought it was a very good fight. Muratalla deserved the win but Cruz looks sharp, elusive and very quick. His stamina was pretty good also, for going 12 rounds the very first time. I think Cruz could end up as a special fighter eventually. He might be better off at 130...I'm not sure though.Comment
