So what is the holdup then, if both fighters want to fight each other? For me personally, I think this is just talk until the first fight press conference is being held.

But on the actual fight, Derek Chisora's durability is not what it once was 'but his raw competitiveness, and share determination to compete. Is most likely at a higher level than Deontay Wilder's'.

Deontay Wilder's power has appeared to have decreased dramatically, and his aggression and passion to compete 'has been very difficult to identify in all of his recent fights. Out of the two fighters, I would say that Wilder is further from his peak than Derek Chisora. But for sure both fighters are miles outside of their peak'.

Note: If this fight happened maybe 5 years ago 'I would have backed Deontay Wilder to win. As I don't really rate Derek Chisora as a big power puncher with single punches, and in order to beat Wilder I think he would have needed to stun him badly or stopped him in his tracks'.

The fight could have potentially resembled Larry Holmes vs Ken Norton 'If Chisora endured Wilder's power, and become invulnerable to Wilder's attacks to a certain level. Then he is stylistically a very difficult fight for Deontay Wilder'.

One of Deontay Wilder's worst attributes is his brute strength; there may be Cruiserweight or Super Middle Weight fighters who have been stronger than him 'If he had a more genuine heavyweight level of brute strength, I think Wilder would have won the trilogy between him and Tyson Fury'.

In comparison one of Derek Chisora's best attributes is his brute strength, and even currently right now miles outside of is peak 'he is still a very capable fighter at using rough house tactics, and his inside game'.

To conclude: In 2026 I would back Derek Chisora as the favourite vs Deontay Wilder 'I would not be surprised if Chisora attacked Wilder outside the ring before the fight. If this fight is made, I think from the very first press conference Derek Chisora will be applying heavy pressure to Deontay Wilder'.

If the fight can be made, it is great match making for both fighters 'Especially for Derek Chisora' etc.

I wonder what happened to Usyk fighting Wilder....Is he still injured or is he planning on fighting Wardley, Fury or Kabayel?
