Boxing needs a better business model. Its trash. Russell fought one time last year after winning a title, correct??? Thats crazy!! And im not piling on Russell, talkim bout across the board, Bivol fought once last year. These guys rarely fight. I dont get it. Boxing is more like a gimmick or spectacle at this point.

This will probably be a decent card. I'm not that excited that Hitchins will fight Duarte because that's a total mismatch to me. Duarte is tailor made for Hitchins by walking straight at him all night and Hitchins can fight him off the back foot and jab him to death. But Russell vs Hiraoka is top level boxing and hopefully Resendiz will get someone besides Berlanga.

It's worse than that: his last fight (vs. Valenzuela) was when he WON the title. Hiroaka will be his 1st defense and it's against a mandatory. Bivol's inactivity is partly due to back surgery, but his next fight is expected to be a mandatory defense vs. Michael Eifert.
