Comments Thread For: If Vergil Ortiz has to turn elsewhere... Jermell Charlo?

If talks to fight Jaron ?Boots? Ennis are indeed dead and gone, then why wouldn?t Vergil Ortiz Jnr turn to a willing Jermell Charlo?

If it doesn't get settled quick I feel like the lawsuit might drag on. Then again idk how it works so I could be wrong

Nah, Grandma Lover, I bet you're right. I had been thinking 'I wouldn't mind seeing Vergil slap one of the Charlii brothers around, cos they are the Twins Of Evil' but then I snapped back to reality and the notion that there will be some sort of court injunction putting the stompers on Vergil signing up for bouts.

With Vergil suing Oscar and GBP, Hearn should make the call to Charlo ASAP!!!

Texas’ Charlo, 35, fanned the flames over the weekend, posting on X, “I’ll fix the problem. Send me [the contract], ODH [Ortiz promoter Oscar De La Hoya] or [Ennis promoter] Eddie Hearn.”
Yeah, send Charlo the contract so he can begin some tortuous negotiations of his own which drag on for months. How about cancel the pointless Fundora - Thurman fight and make Fundora - Oritz: two actual TBRB top ten guys in the sport's most competitive division.

Let the hasbeens Thurman, Spence and Charlo fight each other if anyone is interested.

Makes sense (ortiz/charlo) since Booty turned Charlo down

If Jermell turns up like he did against canelo
for a pay day he’ll get stopped in 6 rounds by Ortiz. These guys just don’t have the heart for it like they probably once did him and his brother. To inactive and just turn up occasionally for a cheque

The Charlos are has beens. Looking for one last big check. I don't see either a threat to any top 3 of the divisions.

If the fight can't happen with Ortiz and Ennis, as long as Ennis fights a name, I'm good with that. If it is someone a ittle above a Charlo-type level fighter. But the last guy Ennis fought is not acceptable. Heck, Ortiz and Ennis against Murazaliev, winner of Baraou/Zayas, Fundora, Adams, Walsh, Ellis, Bohachuk, Madrimov, (Ortiz already fought those two) and Veron who just had a big win, and Lucero who is fighting machine from the looks of it - all these guys should fight each other too to see who rises up.

Point is, can't wait on two fighters when there are so many great matchups as those mentioned above. Lets also see who sends Thurman and Charlo and Spence out to pasture, though Ortiz and Ennis should leave those two up to others to do the deed, not them. Maybe one of those three could cause an upset against others in the division but they are long in the tooth. Not sure at all about Tsyzu with his recent downfalls.
