Raul Curiel defeated replacement foe Jordan Panthen by unanimous decision Friday in Palm Desert, California, to remain undefeated and very much in welterweight title contention.

He did his job tonight and Panthen has a hell of a chin for someone who was suppose to be on the prelims. Curiel landed one shot that buckled Panthen's legs and had him really unsteady but he didn't go down. Curiel is much more loose, fluid and can release punches at a higher speed. Panthen is actually very decent and he should be proud of himself because he did well for someone who was a big underdog. Panthen's punches might not have as much of an impact as Curiel's, and he's a tad stiff and slow to the punch. He should have kept working on the body because he abandoned that plan in the later rounds.
