I couldn't agree with you more. I agree with that as well. The problem is, they've gone beyond that. They're grabbing folks that have lived here for years paying taxes to this country and helping make it a better place. You're picking an extreme situation to make yourself feel better of all the wrong mixed into this as well. The majority that come here are looking for a better life and not trying to get into trouble. You will have bad folks as well because they're part of the mass that come over. Though if 1% is bad among all of them that came over and you isolate only them, it makes it look bad for the honest folks.Comment

Dude, I like your passion. I truly do. However, taking your example. I’ve been paying into Social Security and Medicare since the working age of 15 for 35 years. I’ve made a great deal of money along the way. It’s a statistical fact that almost 50% of LEGAL residents pay almost no federal income tax. After rebates, IRS refund, Social Services etc. Take an illegal. Got here at 30. Works a menial job and lives check to check. Pays into the system only 30 years through their working life starts to draw on the same areas I do; Social Security, Medicare etc. Now, I’ve paid a **** ton more than my illegal counterpart. There’s a reason why these systems are going broke. Compound that with States paying out social services and then running to the feds to be bailed out and now the problem has been exacerbated.
Once upon a time, our immigration system was built upon SKILLED trades (people who contribute to society) doctors, engineers, etc. Now its been relegated to send me you’re tired hungry and poor. All should be sent back. This shouldn’t be, but I was able to not be found for 30 years so I have a right to stay here. That’s not how this works nor should it! If it takes 8-10 years to be legalized then so be it! Go through the correct way. Anyone that is here that hasn’t gone through the system has broken the law. Laws mean something in an orderly and civilized society. I don’t care if they busted their asses for the length of time they have been here. If I were to even attempt the same in most countries my ass would be in prison and RIGHTLY SO. I broke your laws. I disrespected your country. You broke the law period. We are not the worlds caretaker, we are going bankrupt as a country and do not need saddled with more debt.Comment

Not trying to rile up but tryin got understand more. When you said the illegal who got here at 30 pays into the system 30 years and draws on the same areas as you do. Can you explain that better. I'm not sure what you're going for there.
I used to work with illegals and there are 2 ways of getting paid. Either under the table and then not paying taxes of course, but usually getting paid ****. OR, they're using someone else's social security so they can be on the books just to get the job. While that method is tricky, a lot of them get away with it because the employer simply doesn't care. They more or less know the situation and just accepts them and the papers they were given. I've only worked for 1 company that actually fired an employee because she had done that. Though other ones turn a blind eye to it. Though even still, that illegal isn't getting any benefits down the line because it's not their actual social security. They're working on another relative/friend's #, so at the end, they'll acquire any benefits. The illegal simply wants the immediate payment that they receive for the job. This isn't going to happy at a top company either mind you, this is mostly factory jobs I'm talking.
The illegal has no real end game here. They're just looking to make money and either send it home, or try to survive here with what they do make for as long as they can. You can say they're stealing the money from here and sending it out, but that's mostly looking at it in a negative spin. As long as the illegal is here, they are paying into taxes, whether through goods and services and really don't get much back in return in the long run. I read that the illegals contributed in the billions of taxes within the past 5 years. Remove them and those taxes are gone. Whose going to pick up the slack?
I'm also not against what you're saying about folks breaking laws and they shouldn't and I'm totally for that on a going forward basis and of course against any illegal criminal. I'm just against the ones that have contributed maybe a quarter of their existence to this country and whether they impacted you directly or not in a good way, have given taxes and whatnot to help make this place better. Not to mention they do a ton of jobs many Americans would not do. Not for the hourly rates they're paid and the suckyness of the job.Comment
