A lot to work on, but at least he took the challenge against at top ranked contender. He does seem to have a good team to go back to the drawing board and helping him with adjustments. 36 rounds of experience with Nelson, McCumby and Sadjo from this year will help him, even if they were lackluster performances.

Now is time to fight some more experienced fighters like Munguia, Sheeraz, Ivanov or Shishkin. Sink or Swim time, if he fails, the worst it can happen is that he has to start again.

Diego is as slow as a monument. Some of his punches will land tomorrow.

Really good at relentlessly tying up when his opponenet moves forward, and not getting any points deducted.

I knew that would be the story by the end of Round 1. Watched till end of round 2 or 3, and started fast forwarding the rest. Half the times I stopped, he was still tying up.

His greatest sin is that he's boring. He got cracked tonight, too. He ain't ready to take a title from what I can see.

I really want Diego to be a Champion because he seems like a good kid. But he needs to improve a lot in order for that to happen. For starters, he needs to rotate his body when he throws, step around him then land a punch, he needs to move his head, and he doesn't feint or anything. I'm sorry but his footwork isn't very good either. I think it would help him if he watched some of Xander Zayas fights because he's very good at punching on the move. Also, I just don't know if he has that KO power that Ernesto Mercado clearly has. Thats usually innate and he may not possess it.

How did that judge get to his 116-111 score? Looks like he took the point off Sadjo

Damn!! And math used to be a strong point of mine. DOH!
