Ward, Kessler React To Abraham-Taylor, Froch-Dirrell

Mikkel Kessler and Andre Ward were just spectators and fans on Saturday night as their fellow Super Six World Boxing Classic competitors battled in the first stage of the groundbreaking tournament, but the two fighters have plenty of thoughts about the exciting fights. [details]

This America v Europe thing is getting played. I'm tired of hearing about. It's ******, does this mean I have to root for dirrell because I'm American. Should I not support Abraham cuz i would then be a traitor? ******. I like a lot of the guys in this tourney and respect their game. I'd probably root for ward over kessler but maybe not over Abraham.

It just goes to show you that America is not invincible anymore. These other countries are earning respect and more hungrier than we are. I applaud Abraham for a brutal knockout. Even though it seems Dirrell won the fight, but the reality of it all is we are 0-2. Hopefully Ward will turn things around, because these Europeans mean business.

^ Yep, the same lesson was learned with Olympic basketball. The rest of the world caught up to the U.S. You have to bring your A game on every level to win these days.

I am probably the only person picking Abraham to win it all and after his exhibition on saturady I think I will have some company. As for Kesller vs. Ward I will go with Ward by UD. Kessler can be outboxed as Joe showed when they met.

Ward has the weight of the country on his back ......our fighters usually don't have to carry that pressure.....like someone already said....I'm not buyin' into that America vs Europe ****.....I'm a boxing fan and not some clown caught up into that geographical bull****.....I was 1-1 on the weekend......I had JT over Abe....wrong!!......I had Froch over Dirrell.....right but should've been wrong IMO!!!......I got Kessler over Ward in the next scrap so its not about where these dudes are coming from for me!!

I wouldn't say the world caught up in basketball. America's best basketball players were refusing to represent America until they lost. When America's best decided to play it was no contest.

Kind of get the idea that DRE enjoys the "tournament" type matches,ie..the olympics 'more than "regular" matches. He got home town advantage for the 1st fight , as long as he stays discipline and keeps the fight outside and ONLY picks the rite time to go inside instead of gunning for a knockout .2 points is better no points,

Until now I hadn't even thought about nationality. It's irrelevant. I'll just enjoy the fights.
