I dont have a problem with these guys getting in....the HOF let in Vinnie Paz. I do think Golovkin's rep was built on less than great competition, compare his opposition to Hagler's, but he should still get in.

"his victory over the heavily favored Gerald McClellan that defines him". What a joke of a line. In the first minute of the first round, Benn was knocked out of the ring by McClellan. He got a 20 second count. Allowed to continue. Why? Well, he's British so the home fighter has to be protected. He gets dropped in the 8th as well.

that is standard procedure. there was nothing wrong. benn was lucky or smart enough to fall through the ropes. that was the decisive moment."his victory over the heavily favored Gerald McClellan that defines him". What a joke of a line. In the first minute of the first round, Benn was knocked out of the ring by McClellan. He got a 20 second count. Allowed to continue. Why? Well, he's British so the home fighter has to be protected. He gets dropped in the 8th as well.

you don't have to be great to be inducted. there are no standards also. you don't even have to be a champion. i kid you not. hagler wasn't his competition. your logic is faulty. 3 fighters HAVE TO get in from the BALLOT. those 3 aren't better than hagler or whoever is already in. they were voted over arbachakov, arce, chitalada...
have you seen the ballot? there are no all time greats on it. arce, chitalada, eubank and collins are the only ones left who should ever be considered in my opinion. there are 30+ other names there.Comment

There is no way that Golovkin could be left out of the Hall of Fame. The middleweight division wasn’t the best during his reign. But he was at K2 Promotions and none of the names at the time; Sergio Martinez, Felix Sturm or any of the champions at that time would even mention Golovkin’s name. And look at the mans amateur record and who he fought in the amateur ranks. It was just a shame that he was out of the old Soviet system and turned pro late. Admittedly, during his GGG years as champion his competition wasn’t impressive. Maybe if he went up and fought Froch or Kessler, or even lost to Andre Ward people would not be able to hate on his resume.
Gennady Golovkin was a frightening puncher, with an amazing jab & footwork, and had a granite chin. GGG is one of the greatest fighters of this century. He was robbed against Canelo in the first fight. And the rematch was a classic that could have gone either way. But Golovkin was never the same after that fight. And he was old. GGG belongs in the HOF. And if he doesn’t, then I don’t know who does; he is a legend of the sport.

Yes he is in but the two men to vanquish him aren't in the hall of fame?
Eubank has objectively a better championship pedigree too I don't get this one but then again Paz is in the hall of fame but I bet Loreta Garza, Roger Mayweather aren't in the hall of fame.Comment

The only thing impressive with GGG's MW run he was allowed to fight so many no hopers in a row.
His "anyone from 154-168" promise
That "everyone ducked him" lie
Instead of fighting BUMS in his own div, he could have moved up and, I don't know, fought BIGGER BUMS
?!?!?
Boxing seems to have a soft spot for sad stories/comeback kids
This is where Gatti and Paz fit in
Fans also have issues with non boxers getting in.
Which is re tarded
Non boxers like Lampley, Buffer, Mills Lane, Rocky Balboa, etc helped put/keep boxing on the map.Comment

Sometimes there's credit given for entertainment - and credit taken for grating personalities. I didn't mind Eubank's eccentricities but a lot of people couldn't stand him.Comment
