Comments Thread For: Household name: Ben Whittaker and what it means to be a star

Although Ben Whittaker appears to have all the ingredients to become a star, will a lack of visibility become a problem? asks Elliot Worsell.

Live by IG reels, and die by IG reels.

His dunking on other fighters will work until he faces a top level pressure fighter. Gonna end up as someone else’s high stat reel.

That element has made the fights fun to watch now though, where is his level and who is going to be able to get to him.

Is this a news site or the Matchroom PR dept?

        No kidding.

Or maybe change the name of the website to BritishScene or something. The focus on boxers from over there has become quite one-sided.

That mismatch earned him the WBC's 'silver' bauble.

I thought BS the moment I saw the article title. Casual or not, I can ask 20 people I know, some who follow boxing a tad more than what you’d call a ‘casual.’

None of them would know who Ben Whittaker is.

if he prevails and beats some top guys, all respect and credit to him. But he hasn’t beat anyone that has even suggested he’s on the verge of being a worldwide star.

You really should read the articles before simply reacting to the titles.
