Comments Thread For: ?Genius?: The guru-like faith in Pedro Diaz from Tim Tszyu

If the faith Tim Tszyu is placing in Pedro Diaz as his new trainer represents his last chance to realise his potential, in his short time under the Cuban he has rediscovered the enthusiasm of a fighter on the eve of fighting as a professional for the very first time...

Tim has been LUBINatized. He's not coming back from this. Game over. Fing another job and save your health.

Tim is hard headed and hasn't learned a thing from his beatdowns in the ring. It isnt the trainer, its him. He has to put effort in hjs craft and stop thinking hes better than he is. He should learned the rules of boxing to know when he was cut by a headbutt he can call off the fight and let it be a no contest or a early win. He should learned to watch tape on his opponents before jumping into the ring with a powerful Russian. He should had watched newer tape on Fundora before the rematch. Even his own dad cant tell him nothing. Kostya barley even messes with his kids.

I like Tim. This smells like Hatton trying to change his style with Mayweather Sr. Tim needs to learn smarter defense and he needs to to pace himself and not take ****** chances because he thinks he can't be hurt. He doesn't need to try and fight a totally new style.

Honestly the Murt debacle was about 90% his dad being there IMO. He has a strange relationship with Kostya and Tim was literally going in for the fast KO. Before that fight he was patient and defensive and he looked for openings. The Mendoza fight was a great example. Mendoza is a huge hitter and he is a good fighter. Tim picked his spots, stayed away from the big shots and beat Mendoza up.

Ironically Kostya was the beginning of his downfall. Fundora learning to fight from distance was the completion of it. No one is beating Fundora again if he fights behind his jab, he is too freakish in size and reach.

I for one hope Tim comes back with a few tweaks and gets some good fights. But if he tries to adapt a whole new style he may well get KOd again.

Sometimes, it's not the trainer. It's YOU. They'll feed him a few soda cans and have him believing the Tough Man B.S. again.

Well, at least Tszyu sees similarities he likes between the Soviet style and Pedro Diaz’ Cuban school teachings. So maybe it will be a good fit.

“I don’t know, man – I really don’t give a ****, I’ll be honest with you” I think Timmy shares the same opinion most do about Zerafa with anyone and he needs to get rid of his promoters who have been pimping him for years to make the new team complete.
