Maybe Spence needs cash and what bigger fight , in Texas ,than fighting Virgil ???

And there it is...this is Vergil and Golden Boy's proverbial 'middle finger' to Boots and Eddie. I can't be mad at it either. What we're depending on is 'one big fight' between Ortiz and Boots while Ortiz has formidable (e.g., money) options elsewhere. Just hearing Ortiz vs Spence at the Cowboy's Stadium just made me forget about Boots that quickly.

I don't believe in 'marinating' fights but the question is, who can make the most money between Ortiz and Boots while they both make money off of the 'idea' of fighting one another? This reminds me of Floyd and Pac from a business standpoint where Floyd clearly made the most money between the two of them leading up to the fight leaving Manny as the B-side...a highly paid B-side, might I add.

Who does Boots have in his back pocket that can bring in more money and attention than an Ortiz/Spence bout at the AT&T Stadium? I'll wait. At this point, it just looks like Boots 'wants' the Ortiz fight while Ortiz sees it as an option. What makes this whole situation worse is that Spence 'doesn't believe in tuneups' so this could very well be next. Who can Boots face next that will keep his end of the bargain appetizing?

What about Boots vs Charlo and Ortiz vs Spence on the same card at the Cowboys Stadium? Hmm....Al, Golden Boy and Eddie are gonna have to pony up some serious cash but they could make this happy in the Spring and Boots vs Ortiz by the end of the year. It's risky, expensive and may be worth it at this point.

Again, I only say this because Ortiz can clearly take a Spence fight and leave Boots to dry for a while. They both had quick KO wins within 30 days, so fighting two names (Charlo and Spence) could be more interesting. Who knows.
