Comments Thread For: Oscar De La Hoya talks Vergil Ortiz Jnr-Jaron Ennis and money matters

So basically the fight can be stalled due to money because Oscar feels Vergil is the bigger name and he has “the man” as he put it…in Vergil…if he doesn’t get the lion’s share he’s prepared to negotiate fights with Fundora or Spence…in my opinion Bakhram Murtazaliev is the man at 154 and according to everybody’s favorite friend…ai…Oscar didn’t want the smoke with Bakhram for Vergil…IBF or no IBF rules…

Fight should be 50-50…neither guy has a belt…and will make the most money with each other…entertaining a Spence fight with all that he’s been through???…How U Gonna Do That???…

I wish DLH and every other promoter would stop bringing up Spence. He hasn't fought in over 2 years. Ortiz's next fight should be Fundora or Ennis.

I wish they would stop with these "muh A side" talking points which have made the sport so tedious to follow these past 15 years, also. Especially when the same promoters were talking about revolutionising the sport in the face of the TKO challenge just weeks ago.

Fundora is the TBRB #1. There's no "the man" in this division yet; long way to go before that shakes out. The goal of establishing divisional supremacy in the sport's hottest division isn't going to be furthered by wheeling out hasbeens like Spence and Thurman. Total waste of time.

If anything, Spence/Thurman should be facing each other to reestablish themselves. It's sort of sickening how promoters are trying to squeeze every drop from these two. If Sampson could get away with it, he would have Fundora fight Spence/Thurman consecutively. I'm really tired of Sampson protecting Fundora.
