Fuqq all of these scumbags! They're businessmen with a business to run...they should've never mentioned anything about 'no more PPVs' and how it's 'killing' the sport when they've done a complete 180 and now charging for fights.

Why didn't they just say, 'We want your money so stop paying our competition to watch fights. We're gonna pull the same crap they're pulling but we want your all of your money."

What's crazy is, DAZN put on far better fights at the $10 price point back then than the $30/monthly point where we get two "stacked" cards every quarter and a bunch of hogwash between that time.

Fabio Wardley is one fighter. You mean Wardley v Parker. But I get you. The main thing I remember about DAZN is they were UK based but were never interested in the UK for years (you couldn't subscribe to it, you had Sky or nothing). USA boxing fans complained early days about quality AND then that the "no more PPVs" was balls. Still, after we could get it, it was American folk that mentioned pricing inconsistencies, followed by 'when you cancel your direct debit, keep checking your bank statements'. Good advice from the pioneer customers. I've been careful with how I order fights since then. So why trust anything DAZN say now?

You’re right. DAZN operates under its own rules…BUT…his upcoming RING card (airing on DAZN) is Turki’s card AND (unfortunately) it has a price tag of $59.99…at least in the US.

To be honest, $449.99 for all PPV’s unlocked from the start is cheaper than buying all of them individually on the current regular $229.99 plan.

Normally, this value would run at around $800.00 total give or take since I’m assuming most (but not all) the PPV cards throughout the year are $59.99 with maybe the smaller PPV’s (maybe 4 or 5 of them) being $39.99. It’s certainly a better offer than regular DAZN, but it still doesn’t change the fact that it’s essentially DOUBLING the already expensive endeavor the platform is. $229.99 is nearly double what it costs to subscribe Amazon or Netflix…and then you put the big fights behind a PPV wall and you’re left with a steep mountain to climb as a boxing fan.

I am a nut and I’m tempted to dive in, but this is sort of like investing in a start-up where you don’t know a year ahead of time what PPV’s they’re going to be.

I personally WOULD be able to afford this plan, but it doesn’t change the fact that it is expensive plan most likely inspired by Fight Pass.

I see that DAZN is the last man standing (except probox). And so all the people who thought they'd fail were wrong, so far. But I'm also really tired of watching DAZN cards with tiny mexicanos, Agentinian street vendors, and euro no-hopers vs tall up-and-comers (whomever they're pushing as an up-and-comer). Not to mention the love affair the British announcers seem to have with all British fighters; I can't even watch the UK cards with volume on.

Never thought I'd get to the point where I don't tune in at all or fast-forward through entire portions of cards and even whole cards.
I'm British and Adam Smith is a terrible commentator who should be replaced. I end up muting large portions of most cards because I find it cringe. I find a lot of US commentary/punditry cringe too, so theatrical.

Anyway, the important thing is the boxing. DAZN is not offering a perfect product but it's pretty good. The online boxing community is just a fundamentally negative place who seem to compare everything to some boxing utopia which never existed. There were plenty of complaints about the Showtime/HBO era, same as there were about the early 2000s Sky Sports boxing coverage which featured all those ridiculous WBU belts.

Is the subscription fee really a lot of money to people? I'm far from wealthy but I also don't have any expensive habits so maybe that's why I have a different perspective. Does anyone really enjoy searching for and relying on those dodgy streams for the sake of saving a few pounds/dollars?

With two retirements, VA disability, my own businesses, and wife that actually makes more than I do, I am making more than I ever have in my life. And I still wouldnt get this. I’m sorry but I still want value for my trade and dazn has never delivered the goods. Though it has been nice to see Eddie Hearn humbled and running his suck a lot less than he was circa 2018

Ditto to the first. There’s a pile of cynicism and pessimism amongst the general fans that, for a sport whose events are difficult to make a profit on AND dangerous to begin with, a lot of it comes off as really prissy most of the time. HBO and Showtime feel like utopias because the production values seemed better, maybe people look back fondly on where they were in their life, people who they were with (families and loved ones that are gone now). There’s a very good quote by AJ Liebling on boxing that said something along the lines of that the glory days of boxing and the best eras are never in one place. That it depends on who you ask and what year they were born. The tendency is that yesteryear usually ends up being described as the “better days”. Whether it’s 10 years or back, or 50 years, people never acknowledge that their own time might be better than the past. Maybe in fifty years from now, we’ll be talking about how broccoli-haired new guy on the block could never hang with even a Rolly Romero or Buatsi from current times…and it’ll go on and on.

As far as the second in bold, I personally never do that. Maybe when I first started following boxing nearly twenty years ago…but these days I’m not even gonna’ waste the slightest bit of energy.

                    You bums are trippin’

All Matchroom and Queensbury PPVs plus GBP and the smaller cards for £22.99? Pretty good if you ask me.

Maybe it’s because I only watch boxing

I have had a DAZN since it was 9.99$ and now I am paying 29.99$ a month currently and I have to streambin their "PPVs" it would go up to 44.99$ a month for the ultimate package. Most of these cards that are "PPV" are not even PPV worthy cards. Have held unto the sub for the little guy's BAM is one of my fave active fighters, but I think I am going to pull the plug .
