Holyfield and Johnson Both Predict Pacquiao Victory over Cotto

Holyfield and Johnson both predict Pacquiao victory over Cotto.
October 19, 10:00 PMMississippi Fight Sports ExaminerBrad Cooney

In my recent interviews with former 4 time heavyweight world champion Evander Holyfield, and former light heavyweight world champion Glen Johnson, both men predict that Manny Pacquiao will defeat Miguel Cotto. The Holyfield Podcast will be available for listen tomorrow evening at http://www.8countnews.com and the Glen Johnson Podcast is available now.

Holyfield recently appeared with former heavyweight champion "Iron" Mike Tyson on the Oprah Winfrey show. Tyson publicly apologized to Holyfield for the ear biting incident that happened back in 1997. The two men also appeared on the show to set an example for the youth of America that people should forgive each other. Violence does not pay, and people should be kind to one another.

Holyfield made some comments on the upcoming Pacquiao vs Cotto fight. When he was asked for his thoughts on the fight he said, " Miguel Cotto gets hit too much. Pacquiao holds his hands up, he bounces in, he bounces out. Pacquiao throws fast punches, and Cotto has shown that if he does not have an answer for someone, he dies out." When pressed for a prediction, Holyfield was asked, "So if you had to bet the farm on it, do you think Pacquiao beats Cotto?" Holyfield answered quick, and with just one word, "yep."

Former light heavyweight world champion Glen Johnson (who has a rematch coming up against Chad Dawson) also weighed in with his thoughts on the fight. Johnson who has done several television commentating jobs breaks down the fight. When asked for his thoughts on the fight he said, "Cotto took a whooping from Margarito, so he is a little punch shy. I think Cotto still has some tools that he can use, but I believe Pacquiao will come out the winner. Manny is fast, he learns on defense on the way, and he has good reflexes He is a precise puncher that is a force to be reckoned with. Manny Pacquiao is my favorite fighter to watch."

Holyfield also had a message for Cotto:

¨Use the head dude. Pacquiao will end up wondering how he got ´butted by a taller man, but you´ll get the win.

Afterwards, Holyfield was seen betting for Cotto. When pressed for an answer, he said - off the record - ¨I want people to bet on Pacquiao ´cause I´m gonna make a ****load of cash off this circus¨.
