I know this fight is over with but I just read on ********** about that. They claim that DLH was forced to weighin nothing over 145. I didn't hear anything about that and I thought it was strange that he did weighin so light considering he hasn't been that light in awhile. Anyone know if this is true? They also mentioned that Roach wouldn't let Morales fight Pacquiao at 135 for the 3rd fight
Was Oscar De La Hoya contracted to weighin at 145 for the Pacquiao fight???

"Greg’s response: Jose I think if you do some research and contact the right people you will find different about the Oscar-Manny contracted fight weight. Oscar was there for the payday, he didn’t look into the fight from minute one. Morales did beat Pacman at 130 but when it came time to make the 3rd fight happen Morales had out grown the 130 pound division and Roach wanted the fight to be at 130 not 135 like Morales and his people wanted, go back and do a bit of researching. They wanted him drained so they could beat on him plain and simple, and they are continuing to do it to this day. Floyd said on camera more then once he would fight Tzsyu, Kostya was hurt during the time Floyd was at 140 and when he came back he fought Sharmba Mitchell. Let’s take a look back at Mayweather-Gatti at 140, Cotto was there and you could see it in his face after watching what Floyd did to Gatti that he wanted none and at that time he was not ready to fight Floyd, he would have been ruined before he really started. Cotto was saved from Floyd at that time and times after that. Cotto at this present time is ready to fight Floyd but he wasn’t back then.
Greg’s response: Scott as I have previously stated, go do some real research. It was Oscar’s idea to go to Welterweight to fight Manny to get a HUGE payday. Why would Oscar come in 2 pounds under 147 if he didn’t have to? Think about it. If you think I have poor judgment on this topic please feel free to contact other writer’s or Golden Boy promotions or Top Rank. Thanks" -

it was...he couldn't even rehydrate in between the weigh-in and the actual fight.
kinda like mayweather marquez also, in the sense that for every pound oscar came in over 147, he had to pay pacman....but instead of it being 300K, it was like a MILLI for every pound.
rather than pay the money, oscar decided to be cheap, and drain himself, and in turn, got embarrassed.Comment

The scale was tamper with that night that's why Oscar weight on at 145. The issue never came up again because Pacquiao destroyed Dela Hoya. With Dela Hoya pretty much being the boss, I'm sure he did something to the scale. Manny found it strange when he weighted 145 right before he came out and was only at 142 at the weight in. Oscar was probably over 147 for the weight in.Comment
