Also 10 times the fighter Dave Allen could dream of being.

But Price should stay away from the ring. He’s been badly hurt too many times.
The quotes in this interview are from a recent interview he did with The Opening Bell Podcast. He seems pretty content in retirement.

If there is no ducking by Usyk, no reason he can't squeeze in Fury 3/4, and 5 in 2026, and we'll see who comes out on top there, but it would be exciting times for David "The Big Truck" to come back, and he'll be all the better after his long break. Nash out - His Majesty
Nash back in. As a side note....do you think Pricey would be able to time Makhmudevs head movement for a decent K.O.?

When David Price beat Dave Allen 'that was one of the most satisfying wins, I have seen any British heavyweight achieve since David Haye beating Nikola Valuev'.

Dave Allen during the build up to the fight started to really believe his own hype 'there is a saying? Only in America. Well only in British Boxing, can a professional boxer with bad work ethic, quite a low skill level start to overrate themselves and genuinely think they are a threat beyond domestic level'.

Since that fight I have become more fond of Dave Allen, and I do like his story 'but? During those times in his career, I thought he was very condensing towards David Price'.

David Price proceeded to systematically beat down Dave Allen, so severely that he was forced to retire from the game 'for a period of time'.

In Dave Allen's recent fight vs Arslanbek Makhmundov 'once again? He started to believe his own hype, ONLY IN BRITISH BOXING'.

Note: We can all understand when fighters like David Haye, Prince Naseem Hamed, Tyson Fury, maybe even David Price during his rookie years in the game. Those type of fighters at times start to believe their own hype, but the difference between them and Dave Allen? Is that they have for most of their careers, been amongst the best fighters in the Amateur ranks and then the professional ranks'.

Dave Allen has never been that type of fighter 'so when a fighter like that achieves a solid win, or is manufactured into a certain position and standing in British boxing. They can start to believe their own hype and overrated themselves, in comparison to their competition'.

David Price for me, had a solid career 'his rise to becoming the British and Commonwealth Heavyweight Champion was awesome. And I appreciate how he endured the tough times in his career after all of his controversial and brutal loses'.

I always thought that it was a tactical mistake of his team, taking the Derek Chisora fight at short notice 'David Price at that time in his career, needed to understand who he was and what market value he brought to British boxing;.

David Price at no point in his professional career 'was he a fighter who could be pushed into taking a fight against a non-world level fighter at short notice. David Price was a Heavyweight fighter from Liverpool, who in my opinion at his peak was the most popular and intensely support fighter from Liverpool since John Conteh'.

David Price in my opinion had the ability to do much better vs Derek Chisora, and potentially beat him if he had more time to prepare. Price had the skill and power.

To conclude: Overall commendable career 'and everyone knows that Tyson Fury tactically vacated his British and Commonwealth titles, to avoid fighting David Price. During that stage of his career, the fight would have been a big domestic fight and the biggest fight of each fighter's careers' etc.
