Comments Thread For: California commission clearly in Zuffa Boxing's corner
As the most active boxing state in the union, California does indeed set the tone for how the sport functions throughout the nation.

It's interesting to see writers, that are obviously on the take, write hit pieces against their enemies. I don't have a dog in this fight because there will always be some type of corruption in the sport. However the current powers in boxing only have their selves to blame for how brazenly bad they have handled the sport.

you got that right about who is to blame...............they could care less about anything but the dollars and nothing good about fight fans is this new crew any better ? Have to wait and see i doubt it but we may get a few good fights free or cheap from they before it falls apart...............
The majority of 4-8 round fighters do very badly under the current system - this looks like it will be a better deal for them but when they get to the top their earnings will be a lot less than now - someone like Chris Bilam Smith - a good but not great fighter, I've read he's set up for life - I don't think he would be if he had fought under Zuffa
The revisions that were approved did not have to be.
New revisions that favor fighters but do not screw them over could have been. It is not a take this or get nothing, something else was an option.
these changes overwhelming favor the promotion and not the fighter.
in CA 4 round fighters get 1,000 to 2,000 on the regular. So $150 a round is not beneficial. Fighters and their managers who take less, than 250 a round need to do a better job negotiating. Crooked match makers and booking agents attempt to take a big cut when offering fights. It is on the fighter to push for more, before and even more so now, but now the boxer has less leverage.
So the argument that the 4-8 round fighters will do better with this deal is smoke screens at best.
It's absolutely amazing to me that so many boxing fans are passive while their sport is being compromised. If you think it's going to be better with Zuffa you are a useful id*ot
In the end, we either continue the way we have, with crooked belt orgs running the show and which WE'VE ALL complained about....
OR
We see what this new deal brings to the table. If it is as crooked as when the belt orgs were running the show, then we havent missed anything.
I get what you’re saying but this will be tenfolds worse
At least they’re are four major orgs
This will be monopolized by two ego driven maniacal thieves who are already showing signs of driving the sport straight into their pockets ( by getting the Cali commission to go along with this farce imo )
More is always better and it makes it harder to steal
That is my take on it
