Boxing is not in "Golden Era" right now. It's most certainly a down era, a "Depression Era" if you will. There are no universal superstars, nobody knows who the HWT champ is, UFC has put boxing in the background. Boots Ennis is a pretty good fighter, but nobody outside the hardcores really cares and there's no one for him to fight that gets fans buzzing. Ennis sadly is in limbo when he should have already broken out two years ago. There's such a dearth of stars and talents in the game now that they have to revive the ghosts of Tyson, Floyd and Pac to get things going. Tyson is 60. What's next, a Tyson rematch with Larry Holmes who is pushing 80. Ennis is good enough to be a frequent network fighter in the 70s 80s, today he can barely get a fight much less anything meaningful. It's a shame Boots Ennis prime is being wasted, Same can be said for Alimkhanuly, Teofimo, etc.
Ennis is a victim of boxing being in a depression era

He ducked the two biggest guys who offered him fights, Bud and Ortiz.
Boots is a skilled fighter who hits hard. He is defensively open way too much and his team and dad know this. They have protected him for his entire career because he is the meal ticket.
He will get cashed out eventually, after a few more years of cans.Last edited by Theshotyoudontsee; 10-12-2025, 05:37 PM.👍 1 -
the fans pay these guys wages so we need to get rid of the wbc clowns and the rest, one belt called the FAN belt & a poll is made and the belt holder has to fight the guy the majority of fans want him to fight or vacate
lets see eddies bobs and oscars and al's faces when announced
have a cash cow u want milked? it can still be done but no more belt hogging or claiming u are the best and everyone is avoiding u etc
the top contenders get the same treatment to decide the most worthy challengerComment

Weak troll thread.
The bum didn't enforce his ibf mandatory against spencerina, ducked a shot at the belts and his biggest payday against Crawford then ducked another major payday against Ortiz when His Excellency offered the fight.
The guy sees smoke and runs the opposite direction.Comment

Didn't know he ducked Ortiz and Bud, slipped under my radar. That right there says it all, he's nothing special. And in that lens, now it's clear has doesn't have that "glow" or x factor. Just another good but overrated fighter trying to hopscotch his way to pretend he's great.Comment
