Hozumi Hasegawa-Eric Morel in The Works For Dec. 18

It appears former WBA flyweight champion Eric Morel (41-2, 21KOs) is tired of waiting for WBO bantamweight champion Fernando Montiel. According to promoters in Japan, Morel has agreed to challenge WBC champion Hozumi Hasegawa (27-2, 11KOs) on December 18 at the World Memorial Hall in Kobe, Japan. Hasegawa will be making his tenth defense and comes off an impressive first round blowout of Nestor Rocha. [details]

Hasegawa by unanimous decision. I might be with ******, but I'm assuming that his KO streak is gonna come to an end very soon. Knockouts are great, but I am one of those who love to watch Hasegawa's boxing for full twelve rounds. Eric Morel, you can't go down quick!

Not going to happend. Morel has never been hurt, much less KO'd.

Either guy could win the fight. If Hazagawa fights inside and rip his combos in and out, he wins a UD. If he tries to fight Morel at a distance he will loose.

And if it is a close fight Morel wont win ****!! Morel will have to KO him to win!

Anyways, I say hazagawa UD in a very good fight.

I haven't checked Hozumi to much yet, but is he a big puncher? Or is it a coincidence that he has a streak. I only checked his record and it had a 37% KO ratio, just wondering.

he is not a huge puncher, he is a precise puncher, fast and strong. And he boxes very well.

Morel is on his league, but I dont think Morel will be ofensive enough to beat him, much less in japan!!!!

He's not a huge puncher, but he is a very complete fighter with really insane accuracy. Its nuts to watch. His speed and accuracy brings those KO's, but judging by how brutal the one against Rocha was I'd say he's got some underated pop.

Morel is a very good fighter, but he is a little long in the tooth. I think the early rounds will be close and feature a lot of good exchanges, but Hasegawa will pull away later in the fight and start to frustrate Morel. Hasegawa UD 117-111, 116-112, 116-112 in a good, exciting fight.

Ch@mpBox@PR and Slotff already said what i would have about hasegawa. here are the knockout highlights of the first three of his last four:

and his most recent fight (skip to 4:25 for the end):

i hope this fight comes through. i'm going with hasegawa for the win.

Hasegawa is busy offensively and might have improved his power as of late. The competition haven't been stellar but he did KO Alejandro that gave a lot of fits to Montiel. If Morel can stay busy enough he might pull it off
