I have been a RJJ fan for many, many years and still am but have recently come around on Hopkins after much thought on his career as a whole. Some say RJJ has the style to beat B-hop and they are correct....if we are talking about the young B-hop.
I know many will disagree but hear me out and think long about this.....young B-hop was basically a crude brawler, with a good chin, and plenty of will. Does this sound like someone? Someone who recently fought? I am basically saying the B-hop who fought Roy Jones in 1993 was perhaps a marginally better version of Carl Froch. Hopkins is a totally different fighter now after all of these year of transitioning his style. He is a master of the game and RJJ though had great ability is greatly diminished. Don't let him beating guys like Shieka who is an average fighter and barely made weight or Jeff "I want my soul back Joe" Lacy deceive you, Roy was an amazing athlete but is done as world class fighter.
I am fairly convinced now that boxing master Hopkins is going to use his vast knowledge of the game and exploit all of the weaknesses of a far past his prime diminished RJJ to a wide UD and possible ko.
