Nash talks the recent fight card Vol 1 - Headline Cassius Clay vs Lamar Clark

Hot prospect Cassius Clay (5-0) took on Lamar Clark (43-2) in a highly anticipated bout promoted by Bill King in Freedom Hall, Louisville, Kentucky, USA. Clay, who was better and sharper throughout, broke the nose of top contender Clark en route to a Round 2 stoppage victory. Nash believes that Clay could go on to win a world title at some point in the future.

On the undercard, an impressive debut victory for Middleweight Jimmy Ellis as he stopped Arley Seifer (15-12-1) in the third round.

Further down the card was less inspiring, but Soloman McTier (6-4-2) beat Terrell Pruitt (2-7-1) in the heavyweight division. And in the other Middleweight fight, another debutant, Larry Howard beat Milton Tate (0-1).

This was not the greatest fight card, but in Clay, and perhaps Ellis, we have seen two stars of the future, and all the signs are here that the 1960s could be a great era for boxing. We need to enjoy these times. Nash out - His Majesty

I think this Clay kid could be a huge star one day. They need to match him with some guys who’ll give him rounds. Alonzo Johnson would be good shout, he’s been in with a few contenders and has never been stopped. Thoughts? Nash out

That seems like the fight to make. Alonzo Johnson, as you will know, won the New York Golden Gloves tournament a mere 5 years ago in 1956, so has the pedigree. it's a step up for Clay, but Clay is passing the eye test very well. Nash out - His Majesty
