Feel like vernon Forrest deserves it even though it’s a shame he’s not there to receive the honour it will be nice for his family members to accept it for him.. very good fighter at his best, was a precise puncher with great foot speed and agility and he wasn’t a guy who was gonna knock you out with one shot but he had enough power to get respect

The first Mosley - Forrest fight in particular was a big upset. I was still a teenager and remember buying Boxing News with the front cover 'Sugar Caned'. I tried to upload the image but it doesn't work sadly.

Booger Shame was pretty high up in the P4P rankings at the time and Vernon was still fighting on Tuesday Night Fights and U.S.A. Network , the Friday Night Fights.
Those were the days . I remember the wars they used to have at The Blue ! The Blue Horizon in Philly.
Dominick Carter vs Rocky Gannon was the 2 epic wars that I was thinking about. I knew Dominick from New Orleans. The fights were on Tuesday Night fights if I recall correctly.

For the younger crowd out there, Vernon Forrest would probably be the equivalent of Boots Ennis, but way better.

Boots beat only one champ (former) in his record and it's Lipinets, a 140 pounder.

Forrest has two wins over a hall of famer against a prime Shane Mosley.
