Comments Thread For: Oleksandr Usyk and Terence Crawford prove that boxing is no longer a young man?s game

Rather than worry about where they rank in the pound-for-pound debate, we should be celebrating the fact that Oleksandr Usyk and Terence Crawford are doing their best work close to 40, writes Elliot Worsell.

A lot of it is young guys not getting the LIMITED opportunities.

There will be young guys out there now who would give both of these dudes big problems but we don't know who they are because they are like 6-0 fighting in obscurity while all the attention goes on the small select group of fighters turki likes.

While they are ageing well & still move well at 38 look at who they beat,

Crawford, beat a shot to bits car wreck Spence, looked slow against an agile young bouncing Madrimov & beat a slow plodding forward clueless Canelo..... In 3 years.

Usyk at heavyweight, Spoon & he was then Big slow old Del boy. Big slow wooden beat nobody over rated Aj x2, Big slow wooden DDD x2 & Big slow sasquatch version of Fury who to be fair was 5 2 up after 7 fight 1 but then it was all Usyk for the next 17 rounds.

Due to promoters stalling/slowing careers most boxers in they're 20s dont get a look in on the belt scene, while the belt holders stall the divisions with continuous rematch clauses on 1 a year's. Its pathetic.
If Iron Mike was boxing today he'd never have had 26 fights to a belt in 2 years, he'd have had 8 & his best years wasted.

No, this was already proven by Bernard Hopkins who sustained world class level into his 50s. All three of these ATGs prove that if you take care of your body, it can sustain peak performance into 40s and even 50s.

these guys are so much better than the young guys due to experience and the talent pool being shallower in modern boxing
